FORT MOULTRIE FLAG - 3' x 5' Nylon
The Fort Moultrie Flag, also known as the Liberty Flag or Crescent Flag, was a key flag flown in the American Revolutionary War. It was designed by Colonel William Moultrie in 1775 to prepare for war with Great Britain. The flag features a deep blue background with a white crescent-looking symbol on the top hoist-side corner and bold white text across the bottom. The word "Liberty" was added to the flag during the Revolutionary War by some soldiers as a fashionable modification.
