The Grand Union Flag was the flag of the American colonies during the early years of the American Revolutionary War. It featured 13 alternating red and white stripes, with a British Union Jack in the canton. The flag was used by the armies and navy of the American colonies until the Stars and Stripes officially replaced it in 1777.
